Its vocabulary is renowned for a richness in diversity of words describing the natural environment, not just, famously, for snow, but for landscape, sea and weather. Among the words draped over the model's landscape are qaarsoq – cliff, ujarak qarmassaq – boulders, qilak – sky, kalleq – thunder, neriusaaq – rainbow, anorersuaq – storm, qooroq – valley, kangerluk – fjord, ippik – fast-receding cliff.
